Privacy Policy

Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the meanings defined in the Terms and Conditions of TOYOTA CONNECT.

Amended as of 6 December, 2021

1. "Personal Information" means any information regarding identified or identifiable natural person protected under the laws and regulation in the Territory.

2. The User agrees that TOYOTA Connected Middle East FZCO (hereafter referred to as “TCME” or “we”) may collect Personal Information relating to the User that is provided in the course of his or her use of TOYOTA CONNECT and which is reasonably necessary to enable TCME to provide the TOYOTA CONNECT and related services (including the Individual Service and the optional content) and information relating to the status of his or her use of TOYOTA CONNECT. The purposes for which such Personal Information will be processed, used and shared are limited to those set out in this Privacy Policy.

3. TCME shall manage the Personal Information that it collects in a safe manner.

4. The User agrees that TCME may use Personal Information (including but not limited to his or her name, address, date of birth, telephone number and e-mail address) for the following purposes and the User consents to such:
a. dispatching and sending notices and other forms of communication to the User in relation to, among other things, TOYOTA CONNECT products and services;
b. providing TOYOTA CONNECT and making TOYOTA CONNECT available to the User;
c.planning and developing products and services, or implementing surveys, for the purpose of improving the quality of products and services and user satisfaction;
d. providing services relating to TOYOTA CONNECT to the User;
e. responding to inquiries from the User;
f. implementation of campaigns aimed at promoting the use of the Application or TOYOTA CONNECT.

5. TCME monitors and records conversations between the User and TCME where it is necessary to do so for the sole purpose of:
a. confirming the content of the User's request;
b. improving the quality of services provided to the User and User satisfaction.

6. TCME may disclose Personal Information (including but not limited to his or her name, address, date of birth, telephone number and e-mail address) to the following parties to the extent required, in TCME’s sole discretion, to provide the TOYOTA CONNECT service and related services. When we disclose Personal Information to the following parties, TOYOTA Motor Corporation, the Individual Service Provider, the Distributors and such other entities, we use reasonable means to ensure that TOYOTA Motor Corporation, the Individual Service Provider, the Distributors and such other entities safeguard the Personal Information
a. TOYOTA Motor Corporation or any company in the TOYOTA group of companies;
b. the Individual Service Provider;
c. the Distributors;
d. the dealer or the branch from which its Vehicle compatible with TOYOTA CONNECT was purchased; and
e. any other entities which are entrusted to perform any activities regarding to the TOYOTA CONNECT by TCME.

7. TCME and the Distributors may disclose his or her Personal Information if it judges that such disclosure is necessary to protect an important interest of the User or a third party, or if it is necessary to do so as a result of a legal obligation with which we must comply, irrespective of the jurisdiction in which that legal obligation arises.

8. TCME and the Distributors shall comply with a request made by the User to the extent that TCME and the Distributors are able to do so while acting in accordance with applicable laws. The User acknowledges and agrees that the deletion of his or her Personal Information may make it necessary for TCME to terminate his or her use of TOYOTA CONNECT.

9. TCME will not retain the Personal Information of the User for longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or for which the User has otherwise consented.

10. The User may request the disclosure, correction, deletion, and suspension of the use of his or her Personal Information by contacting TCME at:
